"Still the best rogan josh in the neighbourhood. Been coming every Friday for three years β€” the lamb is always falling-off-the-bone tender and the naan arrives hot without asking."

"Ordered the korma after a long shift at the hospital. It was exactly what I needed β€” warm, gentle, perfect. The dal makhani as a side was just as good. Already planning my next order."

"Our first date was in the corner booth in 2019. We still come back for the anniversary and always order the same thing β€” mixed grill and a mango lassi each. Some things shouldn't change."

"The seekh kebabs are criminally good. Ordered delivery last Tuesday and they arrived still hot with the naan wrapped properly. Rare for a curry house to get delivery right β€” Simmer does."

"The saag paneer is the best I've had outside my own kitchen β€” and that's saying something. The paneer is fresh, the spinach isn't watery, and the fenugreek hit at the end is exactly right."

"Walked past for years before finally going in. Now I feel like I wasted years. The dal makhani alone is worth the trip β€” slow-cooked, rich, deeply flavoured. The masala chai afterwards is the perfect full stop."

Elm Road's
best-kept secret
Our Story

Before the coffee chain
got here.

Simmer opened in 2007 when this stretch of Elm Road was mostly hardware shops and a laundrette. The turmeric-stained pots came first. The regulars followed.

We've never had a head office or a franchise agreement. Just the same kitchen, the same slow-cooked dals, and the same charcoal-kissed naans that have been coming out of that clay oven since opening night.

The Friday-night families splitting a rogan josh, the nurses grabbing a post-shift korma, the couples who had their first date in the corner booth and still order the same thing β€” they're the reason the pots never stop.
